Hello, i’m new here but i need some help.
That’s the situation: this company is using a server (not joined to a domain) as network share for all their data. This is a 5 yo machine, but still working fine so there’s no need to change it. Keep in mind that all pc and other stuff point at this shared folder. Recently they have installed a new server to host some vm, and doing so they also create an active directory for managing all employees user. Now there’s my problem: they ask me to set permission of some of this shared folder for each AD user, but when i go to manage the permission, obviously i cannot find the ad user (i’m on the old server). how can i manage to do this? is there a way without joining the old server to the domain?
